So sometimes September weddings can be let's say - a little bit rainy for wedding videographers. Well this one wasn't! In fact the conditions were perfect for both the photographer (Richard Perry –www.richardperryphotography.com) and myself.
The Mythe Barn is a beautiful contemporary, idyllic wedding venue set amidst acres of Leicestershire countryside. Only an hours drive from my home in Dudley. And as I've filmed there before I knew I was going to really enjoy this wedding. I was looking forward to getting some amazing wedding video footage.
My day was due to start at noon on the 7th. I arrived ten minutes early which gave me plenty of time to recce the ceremony room where couples marry. Then set up the second camera in the best position. Then I could focus all my attention on getting some great wedding video footage of the wedding guests arriving as well as Danny greeting them.
I later discovered that Danny is a Doctor and Katrina a nurse. So I'd have been ok if I'd had a heart attack as we were surrounded by NHS staff!
The ceremony was beautiful. Yet also funny as quite a few of the guests found out Danny has several christian names. Katrina had a little bit of trouble remembering them all during the vows! But it all worked out perfectly in the end.
After the ceremony the wedding party and guests relaxed with drinks whilst being entertained by a live guitarist and a close-up Magician – Matt Wainwright (www.mattwainwright.com) who wowed guests with his amazingly awesome close-up magic.
I have some great footage of the group photos and after the speeches Richard the photographer wanted to take the couple out across the fields for some lovely romantic couple shots with the sun setting in the background.
My day ended just after the first dance. Confident that I'd filmed some superb footage for Katrina and Danny's wedding video. I looked forward to receiving the couples choice of music so I could start the editing process.
